Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has issued a strong admonition to music ministers, warning that public ministry without private devotion is spiritually ineffective.

Delivering a sermon titled “Hindrances or Enemies of the Praise and Worship Lifestyle” on Sunday, June 29, 2025, Enenche emphasised that God will not honour voices that are not rooted in the secret place of prayer and worship.

“I’ve seen music ministers and worship leaders try to stir a move of God during public ministration, but nothing happens,” he said. “The presence you didn’t carry into the room won’t magically appear. It follows you.”

He stressed that spiritual dryness is a major hindrance to effective worship, noting that ministers who neglect personal intimacy with God often struggle during public worship sessions.

“If your voice isn’t familiar to God in private, He won’t honour it in public,” Enenche declared. “You can’t manipulate or impress God into showing up just because there’s a crowd watching.”

The pastor urged gospel ministers to pursue consistent spiritual growth and remain deeply connected to God beyond their platform roles. He emphasised that skill alone is not enough to produce true worship.

“Don’t be empty spiritually. When you’re full of the Spirit, praise and worship will flow naturally. Stay filled, and your worship will carry weight,” he concluded.
