Title: Kindness That Costs
Scripture:
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.”
— Luke 10:33 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Kindness isn’t always convenient. In the story of the Good Samaritan, it took time, effort, and personal cost to help a hurting man on the roadside. That’s real kindness—it goes beyond feelings and takes action, even when it’s uncomfortable or costly.
Sometimes we want to help only when it’s easy, but Jesus showed us a higher way. He gave His life to show kindness to a world that didn’t ask for it. We reflect His nature when we choose to love and help others sacrificially. Real kindness interrupts your schedule and stretches your heart—but it also brings heaven to earth.
Confession:
I am willing to show kindness, even when it costs me time, comfort, or convenience. I am moved by compassion, not convenience.
Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to be kind when it’s not easy. Help me see people as You see them, and respond with love that costs something. Use me today as a vessel of mercy. Amen.
Daily Challenge:
Find one way to show “costly kindness” today—whether by giving your time, resources, or attention to someone in need.
