Gaming Meets the Gospel: A New Bible Adventure for the Next Generation

A New Bible-Based Game Aims to Reach the Next Generation with the Gospel

In a world where digital entertainment often dominates young minds, a new mobile game offers something refreshingly different: a powerful retelling of the Bible’s story through immersive gameplay and stunning artistry.

The Serpent & The Seed, developed by UK-based charity Discipleship Tech, is not just a game; it’s a poetic, narrative-driven adventure designed to help players encounter the story of Jesus, especially those who might never think to open a Bible.

Set in a symbolic world ruled by a serpent where thorns and thistles have overtaken the earth, the game invites players to uncover a long-forgotten book that holds the key to redemption. It leads players on a journey from Genesis to Revelation, using storytelling, puzzles, and music to explore Scripture in a compelling new way.

At the heart of this innovative project is Andy Geers, CEO of Discipleship Tech and creator of the award-winning PrayerMate app. Geers and his team have spent nearly two decades bringing this vision to life.

Featuring a moving soundtrack by American indie folk duo Poor Bishop Hooper and narrative input from Amy Green, the writer of the BAFTA-winning That Dragon, Cancer, the game is rich with emotion and spiritual depth.

Church leaders and like creatives are already praising the game for its faith-filled potential. Bishop Jill Duff, Anglican Bishop of Lancaster, called the experience “beautiful and compelling,” expressing her hope that it will “breathe the oxygen of faith into young hearts.”

Rev Dr Andrew Sach of Grace Church Greenwich likened the game’s impact to the storytelling power of The Chosen and even medieval mystery plays, saying: “To my surprise, a computer game turns out to be one of the most effective storytelling media of all.”

With a strong focus on artistic integrity and gospel truth, The Serpent & The Seed is more than entertainment; it’s a digital mission field, helping a new generation engage with the story of God in a language they understand.
