Pastor Tunde Bakare says he never had political ambition but a divine vision to become Nigeriaās president, emphasizing timing, purpose, and influence over power.
The cleric made this statement on Monday when he appeared as a guest on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.
Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), has clarified that he never had political ambition but rather a divine vision to lead Nigeria.
Bakare made the statement on Monday while speaking as a guest on Channels Televisionās Politics Today.
He emphasized that fulfilling God’s purpose requires alignment with His timing and methods. āAnyone doing Godās work in Godās way at Godās time will never lack Godās support,ā he said.
The outspoken pastor stressed that Nigeriaās problem isnāt a lack of resources, but a lack of āthe right people in the right place with the right plan for the right reasons.ā
He explained:
āI never had an ambition. I had a vision of becoming Nigeriaās president. Thereās no age limit to it, but Iām not chasing anything. Have you seen my posters? Even during the last primaries, did you see me campaigning all over TV? Iām a gentleman. When itās Godās time, He will make it happen.ā
Bakare went on to say that influence can be even more powerful than official authority, noting that people can contribute meaningfully without holding office.
āYou can offer what you know will advance the nation. Share it with whoever is in government. The time will come when opportunity will present itself. You donāt have to run after power. You donāt have to grab it by force. You want to serve? Then serve.ā
