Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, has shared heartfelt reflections on the ongoing pressure he faces to remarry following the loss of his wife, Ibidunni Ighodalo, in 2020.

Speaking during an interview on Nigerian Info 99.3, Pastor Ighodalo opened up about the emotional journey he has been on since Ibidunni’s passing. The couple, known for their love and faith, had two adopted children and shared a deep bond before her sudden death.

“When Ibidun died, I thought it was impossible (to remarry) because I had given her so much and felt I had nothing left to give,” he said.

Despite the grief, the passage of time has brought healing, and with it, a fresh sense of openness to what God may have in store.

“People are putting me under a lot of pressure, but I’m not listening to them. I’m listening to my heart,” Pastor Ighodalo said. “And my heart is telling me it’s still possible.”

While many continue to speculate about his relationship status, Pastor Ighodalo says he’s still in a place of prayer and discernment.

“I’m a pastor. At the moment, I’m praying, hoping, and believing in God,” he added. “This is not a decision to rush. There are many moving parts. I want to be sure—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.”

For Pastor Ighodalo, the process of healing, parenting, and leading his church community has deepened his reliance on God’s grace.

“At my age, level, and stage, you learn to slow down. I’m not running around anymore. I’m waiting on God,” he said.

As believers, his story is a reminder that God walks with us through grief, and His plans—no matter how long they take—are always good.
